IES’ business activities are planned, guided in detail and supervised by ex-Directors of a prime Indian turnkey Ash Handling Company, which was always considered by Customers to be technically the best and to be providing the most reliable plants with sustained performance. Continuation of this mindset of delivering technical superiority defines IES’ business – vision.
The ex-Directors bring in the rich know – how – what – and – why of the evolution of different types of ash handling systems in India with global adaptations, of the evolution of system designs, and of the evolution of equipment including their internal / component designs since the 1970’s. It started with extensive studies translating into pioneering indigenous technologies employed in a large number of plants, and were later expanded with latest American and European technologies. It is to be noted that most equipment which handle ash are developed by the ash plant suppliers themselves, and are not available in the market. Similarly, the employed system design technologies and the related layout considerations are also not available in public domain.
On the project execution front, be it an Indian or an Export project, they bring in proven capabilities of turnkey execution, i.e., for effective and timely coordination of customised / tailor – made designs, indigenous & foreign purchases, speciality equipment manufacturing, inspection & testing, delivery to site, site – office & stores management, plant installation, commissioning, system performance testing, and of course, the cash flow management to enable all these activities.
The next level of work & management are performed by well informed technical professionals who have worked for decades in the team, in the areas of system, layout & equipment detail designs, equipment developments / adaptations / customizations where necessary, instrumentation & controls, computer analyses & drafting, fabrication and installation drawings, purchase specifications, tendering, procurement of Indian / foreign equipment, parts, raw materials etc., product Quality Control, inspection & laboratory tests, shop performance tests, packing & logistics, export qualities & processes, erection specifications, installation supervision – validation – quality checks, commissioning, system performance tests, etc.
They also have extensive experience in operation & maintenance of total ash handling plants, troubleshooting, performance appraisal, renovation / upgradation / augmentation works for many types of systems supplied by different parties.
Manufacturing involves the use of special abrasion – resistant materials with narrow – band controls, special finishing and assembly techniques with which IES is fully familiar through long experience. Castings of special alloys are procured from dedicated foundries who have established know – how jointly developed for the specific ash handling applications. Besides many ferrous & non – ferrous metallic alloys, special ceramics, basalt, polymers etc. are also used. IES has exported equipment and parts, conforming to European Union (EU) standards which are often considered more stringent than American & British standards.
The Indian ash handling industry in recent times has unfortunately seen an increasing degeneration in domain knowledge, in the relevant fundamental sciences and in analytical aptitude, all reflected as lack of support to Plant Users leading to their immense difficulty. Some major ash handling companies have wound up, leaving several projects unfinished. In this nationwide grave scenario, IES is uniquely placed to provide reliable technical assistance for revamping, upgrades and augmentations.
